Dr. Alexandra Harriss

Alexandra completed her Phd and Masters of Physiotherapy at Western University. She has an extensive sporting background both professionally and personally. During her undergraduate degree she was captain of the varsity soccer team. In addition to physiotherapy, Alex is an instructor at Langara College.

Alex has extensive experience in sport-related concussion, with over ten peer reviewed publications. She also worked in collaboration with the Ontario Soccer Association to reduce injury in soccer, and has presented at numerous national and international conference proceedings for her work in sport-related concussion. She has completed her certification in Dry Needling, Level 1 and Level 2 (Lower) manual therapy courses through the Canadian Orthopedic Division. She has taken post graduate courses/training in concussion, vestibular rehabilitation, soft tissue work and prevention in running injuries and running assessment.

Alex is passionate about helping clients of all ages and abilities to achieve their goals. Her treatments combine a comprehensive approach to recovery through manual therapy, education and specific exercises. Alex is committed to her clients as well as understanding the underpinnings of their injury to help them regain function, and reduce chance of re injury.

When she is not in the clinic, Alex is often exploring the back country with her dog Ashlu, training for another ultramarathon, or dabbling in mountain biking.
